Non-Fiction

  • A Great and Terrible King: Edward I and the Forging of Britain by Marc Morris – An excellent account of the reign of Edward I, arguably one of the greatest Plantagenet rulers in England.
  • The Black Prince by Michael Jones – An unforgettable read detailing the life and achievements of a warrior prince, while portraying the warfare and chivalry of medieval Britain.
  • The White Ship by Charles Spencer – A riveting story about how the future of the English Crown was thrown into disarray in one night, leading to a medieval Game of Thrones that changed the course of British history forever.
  • A Brief History of Britain 1066 – 1485 by Nicholas Vincent – The story of how Britain was formed, from the Battle of Hastings all the way to the Battle of Bosworth.
  • King John by Marc Morris – The true story behind King John, the tyrant king. An interesting read that details the real King John (not the one depicted in the cartoons of our childhood) and how the Magna Carta came to be.
